New season with a new team started sensational.

First and second week of the new season racing behind us with a great results. After last year collapse due to a EHV virus in the yard, we started with fresh, not yet super fit horses, but looks like we are on the right way.
First week new imported Puramente, raced for the first time and finished 3th with our apprentice rider Shu Murakami on board.
Second week 3yo Tie Em Up Tel, ran for the first time this year against older horses and was 2nd coming from the tail of the group at the end.
On the same day we raced our 8yo stallion Zwegat, after a year of no racing in Gd 3 race over 1400m. He was holding his record time on AW track from 2016, but not only that he won again, but he broke the record by 1s.
I am proud on my new team, their time spent for wellbeing of the horses and results are coming.

Looking forward for another thrilling weekend ahead…but more on that on Monday 🙂

It is going to be a fine race day in Budapest. It is the Derby day and the people at Kincsem Park really give their best to organize a real racing experience for the visitors and the contestants as well. We are happy that we can attend, but, unfortunately, no Derby entries for my horses this year.

Pretorian (GB) will run in category I., 1200 m, hopefully with more luck at the start this time, and Valorous Influence (SVK) will run in category II., 2000 m, where he will try the feeling of the all-weather for the first time in his life.

Tomorrow races

5Y5A3703We are all very excited about the weekend in front of us…. On the traditional 33. Turf Gala day in Bratislava, we have 3 horses:

Pretorian (GB) in the highest ranking race in this region, Gd.3, 1200m with Zdenko Šmida booked for the ride.

In very respectful company of rivals in Listed race over 1800m, All Yours (IRE) with Pierantonio Convertino in colours of her owner Konjicki klub Lastin Put, and

Valorous Influence (SVK) in kat.III race over 1700m under Zdenko Šmida as well.

Unlucky race day for us on Kincsem park-Budapest

Pretorian (GB) and Zdenko Šmida were unlucky yesterday…after the start Zdenko got cought in the starting gate doors and he and Pretorian went seperate ways… Luckily both are fine and soon they will have the opportunity to finish what they have started yesterday… Look forward no further than 3.7.2016!

Tomorrow our Sakhee’s Secret son, Pretorian (GB), will challenge his rivals over 1200m straight race I. category on Kincsem Park-Budapest racecourse with Zdenko Šmida in the saddle.

Both are booked with stable riders…to award them with satisfaction, for all work done throughout a whole year, behind the scene…

We are also planning to film a whole race from Zwegat with GoPro camera on helmet of the jockey…a desert for all our fans 🙂

The excitement about Turf Gala day in Bratislava is still with us, but there is also proudness.

Valorous Influence (SVK) was 3rd in cat.III race.

After his race there was a heavy storm which causes a delay of one hour and brought very deep ground, All Yours (IRE) was waiting for her start in Listed race in a shelter of pre-paddock boxes, but it looks like she didn’t like it very much, because she didn’t show her real race abilities, ending on second to last place.

Worries about deep groud were present before the race of Pretorian (GB), but he was a real fighter. Despite the lack of experience in company of so many respectful sprinters in Gd.3 race he manage to finish close 4th.

At this point I have to thank to my dedicated team Zoran Bunjevac and Miloš Bunjevac , to great riders Zdenko Šmida and Pierantonio Convertino, to the vet Davide Senatore . Without you all this would not be possible!! Big thanks also to Equine Bodywork Katja Porenta and all involved….

Turf Gala 2016 and my thoughts…

How was preparation of All Yours and Pretorian before race?
PRETORIAN: potentially we have another star of the yard in Pretorian. Unfortunately we could not bring him to racing earlier in the season, so he is facing the competition with less experience as we would wish for, but we hope he will manage to overcome this with well seasoned Zdenko Šmida in the saddle. On the other hand he may use the lack of experience with his freshness.

ALL YOURS: she was a filly of the year 2014 in Serbia, so we are sure that she has all the necessary tools to bring up a good performance, but in the same time the top leavels in Serbia and Slovakia are completely different. Considering the fact that sometimes she engages (what she displayed even in Bratislava) and sometimes she performes below her level, it is very hard to predict her attitude for this race.

It will be for Pretorian distance 1200 m good? And what about 1800 m for All Yours?

PRETORIAN: the distance should serve him well, because he already showed his sprinting abilities. Being the son of a July Cup winner, Sakhee’s Secret, is surely not making any harm to him as well.
ALL YOURS: the distance should serve her very well and the level of the race should match her past title, and as a future broodmare she would surely benefit from a good result on Bratislava racecourse.

Who are the biggest concurence in both race?

PRETORIAN: the competition is respectful, most of the horses already proved themselves on short distances and on high levels of races, so I am not underestimating any of the horses. Racing is racing, so anything can happen. I attribute most chances to win to Dashing Home, but I believe he will have a hard job with Mr Machine and Sign of the Zodiac.
ALL YOURS: as a favourite I fancy Red Hot Calypso, which is proving the skill of his trainer Gabor Maronka and there is also Legionar. I like very much the heartly Diana Rosensturm, who is confirming her status of a top level racehorse from race to race.
With which results do you be satisfied?
PRETORIAN: this is one of the highest ranking sprint race in the region, so even placing is a good achievement, but of course as always we are looking forward to the best.

ALL YOURS: as always we are looking to the best performance of the horse, but of course would not mind if she places herself.
Who else…
And at the end there is VALOROUS INFLUENCE…he will perform in highest category in his life….but we see him as a horse who is yet to become what he was born for.
